A sample still has a story after washing
Compare the first impression with the garment after use.
A garment’s appearance when new should not be the only basis for assessment. Sample checks help reveal changes in dimensions and appearance. Results from different conditions, however, can be misleading when compared directly.
Record the conditions too
Define measurement points and take photographs before testing. Record washing and drying conditions, then use the agreed approach for later samples. Look beyond a single number: review the collar, seams, surface and shape. Discuss any required professional testing separately with the manufacturer.
Bring those observations back into the product brief. They should inform the next decision about this material rather than become a blanket conclusion about every fabric.
