A garment’s character shows in its seams
A small detail can make a noticeable difference to the whole piece.
A buyer notices colour and silhouette first. Once they pick up a garment, the inside collar, sleeve edges and seams become part of the experience. Discuss these areas during design rather than leaving them until the end.
Connect each seam to its purpose
Decide which seams will be visible and which will sit inside. Review stitch direction, thread colour and panel joins on the sample. Look at the seam while the material is folded and during a fitting. Rather than applying one solution everywhere, discuss what each part needs to do.
Keep a close photograph of the approved construction and retain the physical sample. That small reference can replace a long explanation on the next order.
